our roots
Sow Wild has been retailing wildflowers in the Weald since 1993 as part of local family business, Agrifactors Southern Limited. The farming business was set up in 1960 by Roland Davis, with the seed side of the company following shortly after, and today it is run by his son Chris Davis. Sow Wild sees the business enter another generation with the new arm of the business being run by Roland’s grandaughter, and Chris’ niece, Lily.
At Sow Wild we work alongside the Weald Meadows Partnership and continue to stick to the same principles that were set up by Agrifactors as part of this highly acclaimed local grassland project over twenty years ago.
We are recognised by Natural England as a producer of wildflowers and our seeds are used on big local projects such as highways (Bexhill Bypass), schools, vineyards, farms under Higher Level Stewardship (HLS), Suitable Alternative Natural Green Spaces (SANGS) specified under section 106, football and rugby clubs, parish and district councils, private and corporate accounts.
With Monty Don pioneering the recent surge in popularity of letting your garden grow wild in order to support bee and butterfly populations, Sow Wild enables us to distribute our bee-friendly wildflower seeds direct to your door and bring wildflower meadows to UK gardens.
With a grass and seed mixing facility on site, we proudly remain one of the last independent seed merchants in the South East. Delivering expertise and quality wherever you are in the UK, Sow Wild has the knowledge and experience to help you sow your very own wildflower meadow at home.
